Privacy Policy

MatStrength (the "App," the "Site," "we") is a strength and conditioning product for grappling athletes, operated by Mat Strength LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do — and don't do — with it.

Information we collect

• Account data: email address and password (stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider — we never see your password).
• Profile data you choose to provide: name, birth year, sex, height, weight, weight class, training background, competition dates, injury notes, equipment access, and training availability. All profile fields are optional and used only to personalize your training.
• Training data: programs you start, workouts and sets you log, strength maxes, readiness check-ins, cardio sessions, food logs, and technique bookmarks. This is the core function of the product.
• Waitlist data: if you join the beta waitlist on this site, we store your email address and which page you signed up from.
• Payment data: if you subscribe on this website, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and stores your card details. We never see or store your full card number. If you subscribe inside the mobile app, billing is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play through our subscription manager (RevenueCat).
• Device and site data: basic diagnostics (app version, device model, crash reports) to keep things working.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal data. Ever.
• We do not share your data with advertisers.
• We do not collect your precise location.
• We do not access your camera, photos, or microphone without an explicit in-app action from you.
• This website does not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Where your data lives

Data is stored with Supabase (database and authentication, hosted in the United States) protected by row-level security — your training data is readable only by your authenticated account. This website is served by Cloudflare. Card payments made on this site are processed by Stripe; payments made in the mobile app are processed by Apple or Google.

Coaches

If you accept a coach's invitation, that coach can read the training data described above for your account. This is consent-first: nothing is shared until you accept, and you can revoke a coach's access at any time from your profile. Data from Apple Health or Health Connect is never shared with coaches. In your journal, your coach sees your daily scores and anything you write in "Notes for coach"; the rest of your journal stays private to you.

Coach Notes

Coaches can send you Coach Notes about your training. Coach Notes are for sport performance only. Before a note is delivered, its text is automatically screened for inappropriate content by a content-safety service (OpenAI's moderation service, which receives only the note's text and does not keep it or use it for training), and notes may be reviewed by MatStrength. If you are under 18, a copy of every note is emailed to your parent or guardian, who can stop notes from that coach at any time. Notes are kept as a record and can't be edited or deleted by the coach. Content that may be sexual, illicit or otherwise inappropriate is blocked and may be reported to the U.S. Center for SafeSport and law enforcement.

Wrestling stats

Coaches can record match results and statistics for their wrestlers, including wrestlers who don't have a MatStrength account. These records hold the wrestler's name, wrestling details (weight class, grade, division, level, stance and style notes) and match results or season and tournament totals, never contact details or birth dates, and are visible only to that coach, MatStrength administrators and, if the coach links the record to a MatStrength account, that athlete. When a coach uses the import tool, what they upload (pasted results, spreadsheets, screenshots, photos or PDFs of result sheets) is sent to OpenAI, together with the coach's own wrestler names, to be read into the tracker; OpenAI's API does not use it to train its models. Only the coach's own wrestlers are saved, the coach checks every row before saving, and an import can be undone. Coaches can edit or delete match records at any time. Coaches can also record a wrestler's age and years of experience. Coaches can also upload a team logo. Logos are stored privately and are visible only to that coach and MatStrength administrators.

Health-adjacent data

Training logs, body weight, food logs and readiness scores are fitness data you voluntarily record. They are not shared with third parties except the storage providers above.

Apple Health and Health Connect (optional)

If you choose to connect MatStrength to Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), we read one type of data: active calories burned. We never write data to Apple Health or Health Connect, and we do not read any other health data.

Why: to show your daily activity next to your calorie target, and to add calories you burned above your normal daily activity to the calories you have left for the day. Your target already includes normal daily activity, so this is not counted twice.

Storage: we store a daily total of active calories in your account, so your numbers match on every device. Only you can see it. It is not visible to coaches and not used for anything else.

We never sell this data, share it with third parties, use it for advertising, or use it for decisions about insurance, credit or employment. Our staff do not read it except to help you when you ask, or where the law requires.

Your control: connecting is optional. You can stop access at any time in Health Connect settings (Android) or the Health app → Sharing → Apps (iPhone). Disconnecting in MatStrength deletes the stored daily totals, and deleting your account deletes everything.

Athletes under 18 use this feature the same way as adults, with a parent's or guardian's consent.

Your rights

You may request a copy of your data or complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing matforgestrength@gmail.com. Deletion requests are honored within 30 days. If you are in a jurisdiction with additional statutory rights (for example the EEA, UK, or California), we will honor those rights on request.

Children

MatStrength is intended for users 13 and older. Athletes under 18 should use it with a parent or guardian's consent and under coach supervision.

Changes

We'll update this page when the policy changes and note the date above. Material changes will be announced in the App.
